Kuwaits "Hala Febrayer" will go on

After the number of cancellations in the Arab capitals of most musical concerts and festivals, Kuwait decided that it will not be canceling this year's "Hala Febrayer" (Welcome February) Music Festival. Instead, the organizing committee of the festival announced that part of the profit from the festival will be donated to help out the families in Gaza. hala

Sources say that "the government has not passed out any order to cancel the scheduled musical performances".

According to the London daily Elaph, despite all that has been said regarding holding the festival, it was stated that the parliament in Kuwait will be voting on the decision whether to stop the "Hala Febrayer" Festival or not for this year.

Famous artists that are invited to participate in the event are prominent artist Wardah Al Jaza'ryah, Kuwaiti Nawal, Kuwaiti artist Nabil Shu'ail, Emirati artist Ahlam, Saudi artist Abed Al Majeed Abdullah, Ibrahim Abbas, Syrian artist Asala, Lebanese artists Ragheb Alameh, Wael Kfoury, Faris Karam, Mariam Faris and Yara, Egyptian artists Muhammad Hamaqi and Shireen Abed Al Wahab. Kuwaiti band Miami and other artist whom names will be revealed later have also agreed to participate in the festive event.
