Music festivals cancelled
The crises in Gaza brought a termination to most of the New Year's celebration that usually takes place every year around the Arab world. As for this year's "Hala Febrayer" (Welcome February) musical festival which is held in Kuwait every year, the management committee of the festival has decided not to cancel all the scheduled musical events.
In a press release, the committee announced that part of the festival's proceeds will be donated to families in Gaza. "Hala Febrayer" will start on January 29th and end on February 24th.
On similar grounds other musical and art festivals were canceled in various parts of the Arab world. The latest cancelation comes by "Al Doha Musical Festival" where the famous Lebanese artist Najwa Karam, Emirati artist Ahlam, Kuwaiti Nawal and the artists Rashed Al Majed and Abas Ibrahim were scheduled to perform. The festival was also canceled for the same reason as many others in the region which is in support with their dying Palestinian brothers in Gaza.
