Ragheb Alameh supports Gaza
The famous Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alameh recently appeared on the satellite channel "Al Jadid" (The New) where he was interviewed by the co-host Ghada Eid. She talked to him about the humane side of music and how it could support major cases and crises.
From the beginning Alameh wanted to make clear that the artist's role is not just to make people happy and sing for romance and love. He stated that art is another mean of media, where with music they can make a point and support what they believe in. Alameh added that attacks on Arabs and their lands has been going on since 1948 and in these cases the artist should play a major role to support their Arab brothers.
According to the London daily Elaph, Alameh revealed that what disgusts him the most is that the Israeli forces could commit brutal acts of war and use forbidden weapons without anyone stopping or questioning them. He adds that the Israelis could kill innocent people and kids and still go home to celebrate what they have accomplished.
On the show Alameh was asked why he was wearing the Palestinian "Kofyeh" (black and white head cover for men). He said that he wore it to show support for the Palestinian people. Alameh's latest clip "Qatalo Al Sha'eb" (They Killed the People) was aired during his interview on "Al Jadid" channel.
